Joe Biden tries the standard leftist method for 'winning'. Just lie about it.
On his final ‘working day’ in office, Joe Biden tried another desperate attempt to throw America into a leftist tumult. He proclaimed the controversial ERA to now, magically, be the law of the land. From its beginnings in the 1970’s ERA advocates trapped themselves by asserting this would ‘cement’ unlimited abortion rights into the Constitution, but to secure votes they needed, they then claimed, “No, it was actually about more generic gender-inequalities.”
They lied.
A proposed amendment becomes part of the Constitution as soon as it is ratified by three-fourths of the States (38 of 50 States). [Article V of the Constitution] The President has absolutely no role in amending the Constitution. Because of their subterfuge, abortion advocates could never get the necessary state support which the Constitution demands for passage. Several states openly withdrew their support. The clock was ticking. A Democrat Congress actually ‘created’ new rules for the ERA, giving even more time. They still failed to meet the artificial deadline.
Even pro-abortion icon, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, admitted the amending process for the ERA had been eclipsed, and the advocates needed to start over. This caused her abortion allies to seethe. But not to stop.
Throughout the battle over abortion, advocates depended on political marionettes like Jimmy Carter and Joe Biden. They hoped you wouldn’t see the strings. They hoped an uninformed electorate would just believe. A sympathetic media would simply repeat and prop up, even give an echoing voice to their puppets.
But that time has sunset. Like Joe Biden’s Presidency itself, the artifice has crumbled.
